How did we get started with miniatures?

Visit the Chicago Toy Solder Show is the best answer and look for anything dating from 1970 onwards.

This site shows what we used to see in comic books and how we got started in the hobby of collecting miniatures and building models.
JSON map test area
The purpose of this test area is for each player to operate on their computer, then upload their moves back to the onedrive folder for other players to access.
A Vassal Engine, realtime live and Vassal server-hosted game module, is in development. In addition, other viewers of this webpage can view the actions using an MS Teams meeting though it will reflect the actions of the person currently sharing their screen in Teams. In this way the person operating the interface will serve as the gamemaster and make moves and capture images of each turn and save/load the files. This area serves to create scenario documents as well.
Of 2.5 inch hexes, the vertical is 14 hexes and the horizontal is 22 so bear that in mind
Note that in games such as BattleTech, a typical hill should be no less than several hexes in diameter whereas in historical games, a single hex can represent a typical hill. We recommend uploading maps with hexes and numbering already on them so the hex feature here isnt necessary. Browse our maps to use as backgrounds and see how you like them.
